A- At the airport:-
–Departure lounge: the place at an airport where people wait until their plane is ready to leave.
–Departure gate: the place where you leave an airport building to get on a plane.
–Departures board: a board in an airport or station that shows the times at which planes or trains leave.
–Hand luggage: the small bags that you carry with you when you are travelling on a plane.
– Announcement: an important or official statement. Or the act of telling people that something important is going to happen.
–Security check: things that are done to keep a person, building, or country safe from danger or crime.
–Security guard: someone whose job is to guard money or a building.
–Conveyor belt: a long continuous moving band of rubber, cloth, or metal, used in a place such as a factory or airport to move things from one place to another.
–Check-in: a place where you report your arrival at an airport, hotel, hospital etc. Or the process of reporting your arrival at an airport, hotel, hospital etc.
–Check: find out or ask someone whether something is correct, true, in good condition or allowed.
–Board (n): flat wide piece of wood, plastic etc that you can use to show information.
–Board (v): to get on a bus, plane, train etc in order to travel somewhere. Or if a plane or ship is boarding, passengers are getting onto it.
–Taxi(v): if a plane taxis, it moves along the ground before taking off or after landing.
–Trolley: a large basket on wheels that you use for carrying bags, shopping etc. Or an electric vehicle for carrying passengers which moves along the street on metal tracks.
–Runway: a long specially prepared hard surface like a road on which aircraft land and take off.
–On board: carried on a ship, plane, car etc.
–Duty free: duty-free goods can be brought into a country without paying tax on them.
–Passengers: someone who is travelling in a vehicle, plane, boat etc, but is not driving it or working on it.
–Take off: the time when a plane leaves the ground and begins to fly.
B- In the air:-
–Headphones: a piece of equipment that you wear over your ears to listen to the radio, music etc without other people hearing it.
–Turbulence: irregular and violent movements of air or water that are caused by the wind.
–Seat belts: a belt attached to the seat of a car or plane which you fasten around yourself for protection in an accident.
–Cabin crew: the group of people whose job is to take care of the passengers on a plane.
–Aisle: a long passage between rows of seats in a church, plane, theatre etc, or between rows of shelves in a shop.
–Airliner: a large plane for passengers.
–Land (v): it moves safely down onto the ground.
