VW’s revamped sport-ute makes its way stateside under the Touareg 2 moniker. For 2008, the exterior appearance has been updated to include redesigned headlamps and tailamps, a new front fascia with chrome grille and a new rear spoiler. Underhood, Touareg 2 offers two direct-injection gasoline motors: a 3.6-liter, 280-hp V6 and a 4.2-liter, 350-hp V8. For the ultimate in power, the available twin-turbocharged V10 TDI diesel cranks out 310 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque. Touareg 2 models arrive in dealerships later this spring, with base models starting at $39,320.
