Salary grades.<\/p>\n<p>With effect from 1 November 2007, we shall adopt the new salary grade<br \/>\nstructure comprising 20 grades from grade 10 (lowest) to grade 29 (highest)<br \/>\nto replace the existing grades.<\/p>\n<p>2.    Migration to the new grade<\/p>\n<p>     10% increase in the current basic salary will be effected for all<br \/>\n     employees across the board including GTs, Trainees and Academic<br \/>\n     Staff, with approximate average increase of 25% in the total package.<br \/>\n     There are cases where the basic salary will increase by 30-40% or<br \/>\n     more due to migration.<br \/>\n     Individual employees will be migrated to the minimum of their<br \/>\n     appropriate new grades on the basis of job evaluation, expertise and<br \/>\n     performance criteria.<\/p>\n<p>3.    Allowances and Benefits<\/p>\n<p>  A. Housing Allowance<\/p>\n<p>     Due to migration to the new grades, there will be increase in the<br \/>\n     housing allowance.<\/p>\n<p>     For expatriate employees in grades 19 and above, the maximum limits<br \/>\n     for Abu Dhabi and Dubai Cities have been increased to reflect market<br \/>\n     rates as per attachment 1.<\/p>\n<p>     For expatriate staff in grades 18 and below based in Abu Dhabi and<br \/>\n     Dubai Cities, housing allowance has been enhanced and will be paid at<br \/>\n     flat rate for each grade instead of as a percentage of basic (<br \/>\n     attachment-2).<\/p>\n<p>     Female married employees will be paid housing allowance on par with<br \/>\n     male married staff as applicable to the respective grades. Divorced<br \/>\n     and widowed female employees with children shall be entitled to<br \/>\n     housing allowance as applicable to married staff.<\/p>\n<p>  B.  Special Housing Support<\/p>\n<p>     Special Housing Support will be provided to UAE Nationals currently<br \/>\n     not covered by the Accommodation Assistance Allowance as indicated in<br \/>\n     the attachment 3. This policy will be applicable for UAE National<br \/>\n     employees posted at Abu Dhabi and Dubai Cities only at 50% of the<br \/>\n     relevant existing Accommodation Assistance allowance.<\/p>\n<p>  C.  Accommodation Assistance Allowance<\/p>\n<p>     In addition to GTs in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, GTs in Dubai will also be<br \/>\n     paid Accommodation Assistance Allowance as below:<\/p>\n<p>(Embedded image moved to file: pic20065.pcx)<\/p>\n<p>     The Accommodation Assistance Allowance for male married UAE National<br \/>\n     staff in grades 18 and below shall be increased from AED 35,000 per<br \/>\n     year to AED 50,000 per year for Abu Dhabi Region and from AED 18,000<br \/>\n     to AED 45,000 per year for Dubai Region.<\/p>\n<p>     National Staff posted at Sharjah and Ajman locations but not having<br \/>\n     home base in Dubai, Sharjah, Umm Al Quwain or Ajman will be paid<br \/>\n     Accommodation Assistance and Furnishing Allowance at applicable rates<br \/>\n     for their grades irrespective of their home base being 75 kms from<br \/>\n     workplace or not.<\/p>\n<p>  D. Car Allowance<\/p>\n<p>     Car allowance has been increased as follows:<\/p>\n<p>           Grade 26 and above      &#8211;     Dhs. 225,000<br \/>\n           Grade 24 &amp; 25           &#8211;     Dhs. 180,000<br \/>\n           Grade 23                &#8211;     Dhs. 140,000<\/p>\n<p>        UAE  Nationals  will continue to be paid once every four years and<br \/>\n        expatriate employees will be paid as a pro-rated monthly allowance<br \/>\n        as per eligibility.<\/p>\n<p>  F. Service Telephone Rebate.<\/p>\n<p>     Employees can combine applicable telephone rebates for fixed line and<br \/>\n     mobiles. Other conditions regarding service telephone provision<br \/>\n     remain unchanged.<\/p>\n<p>  H. Other terms and conditions remain<br \/>\n     unchanged.<\/p>\n<p>  4. Annual Increment Policy<\/p>\n<p>     Annual increments to employees has been enhanced and will be based on<br \/>\n     their actual Basic salaries instead of on the minimum of their Salary<br \/>\n     Grade. This will result in increase in the annual increment amount.<\/p>\n<p>     For employees who have reached the maximum of their grade, lump sum<br \/>\n     annual increment payment will be made every year on the basis of<br \/>\n     their performance rating.<\/p>\n<p>  5.
